Modernising Melbourne's buses

As part of our 9.5-year Metropolitan Bus Franchise contract, we're helping the Victorian Government modernise Melbourne's bus experience and deliver benefits to the whole community.

We proudly operate one third of the city's bus network, which includes 50 bus routes, 531 buses and a team of 1100 passionate people.

We're supporting Victoria's transition to zero-emission vehicles by introducing 36 fully electric buses to the network by 2025. We're also delivering improved diversity and inclusion for the franchise

Environment Canterbury partnership

Greener & cleaner Christchurch

The streets of Greater Christchurch are a little quieter and a lot greener, with Kinetic continuing the acceleration towards an electric bus network in partnership with Environment Canterbury.

Electric buses now make up 20 per cent of Environment Canterbury’s Metro Urban fleet, saving an estimated 18 per cent carbon dioxide equivalent emissions annually, the equivalent to nearly 2,400 tonnes of carbon dioxide, compared to a fully diesel fleet.

Kinetic will continue to support Environment Canterbury in replacing the remainder of the fleet over the coming years, under its commitment to having a fully zero-emissions fleet by 2035.
