Kinetic is backed by two major shareholders, OPTrust and Foresight Group, with local management holding a minor shareholding.

OPTrust

OPTrust invests and manages one of Canada’s largest pension plans, serving over 106,000 members and pensioners, and has over A$27bn in net assets.

OPTrust is a global investor across a broad range of asset classes including private equity, infrastructure, real estate, public equities and fixed income, and has a team of highly experienced investment professionals located in Toronto, London and Sydney with significant principal investing expertise.

Australasia is seen as a core market for OPTrust evidenced by its commitment of capital and resources to the region, following the establishment of a Sydney office in 2012. OPTrust has been an active and long-term investor in the Australasian market, focused on building market-leading platforms and has significant existing investments across a number of sector verticals including energy, industrial services, infrastructure, financial services, telecommunications and transport.
