Diversity & Inclusion

Building a workforce that reflects the rich diversity of the communities we serve is central to our mission. We're creating a workplace where everyone can thrive, regardless of gender, cultural background, or how they identify.

Gender balance in transport

A gender-balanced working environment means we all benefit from broader perspectives, new ideas and reduced bias, with positive ripple effects into the wider community - that's why we've committed to have gender balance across our entire workforce by 2030.

Our Women Up Front initiative is breaking barriers by offering women with great customer service skills the opportunity to become fully qualified bus drivers through paid training. We're also implementing our Future CEO program to develop women leaders at all levels of our organisation.

Meaningful connection with Indigenous communities

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we work, live and move people every day in Australia, and ngā iwi ō Māori as the tangata whenua of Aotearoa (New Zealand).

Through programs like Moving the Mob in Australia, we're creating pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to join our team, while building meaningful partnerships with Indigenous communities across Australasia.

We’re proud allies

We celebrate diversity, support our people and ensure that everyone is safe and respected regardless of how they identify. To guide and reflect our allyship for the LGBTQ+ community, we are aiming for gold in the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) and Toitū Takatāpui (Rainbow Tick) accreditation in New Zealand.

Our iconic "You are loved" buses are a visible demonstration of our belief that everyone deserves to be their true, whole and best selves.
