Update Friday 26 January 2024 - Townsville and Magnetic Island buses to resume services on Saturday 27 January

From 6am tomorrow (Saturday 27 January 2024) bus services will resume in Townsville and will operate to the scheduled timetable moving forward.

Some delays or diversions may occur as a result of traffic changes or road closures and we thank passengers for their understanding and patience.

Kinetic looks forward to once again providing the community of Townsville with important public transport services.


Townsville and Magnetic Island bus services to be suspended from end of day Wednesday 24 January due to Tropical Cyclone Kirrily

With weather conditions expected to significantly deteriorate due to Tropical Cyclone Kirrily, all Kinetic bus services (including school services) in Townsville and Magnetic Island will be suspended from end of service today (Wednesday 24 January) until further notice.

Kinetic regrets the impact this suspension of services may have on passengers however the decision has been made in the interests of community safety, and the safety of our team members.

Destructive winds, heavy rain and flash flooding is expected and services will remain suspended until operations can be safely resumed, subject to flooding, road conditions and staff availability.
