Kinetic New Zealand has achieved Rainbow Tick accreditation, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to building an inclusive workplace and supporting LGBTTQIA+ employees.

The Rainbow Tick, delivered by Toitū Takatāpui, is a continuous improvement programme that supports organisations to create safe, welcoming, and inclusive environments for members of the rainbow community.

Nicky Harrison, Director of People, Culture & Safety at Kinetic New Zealand, says the accreditation reflects the company’s genuine and sustained commitment to inclusion.

“Achieving Rainbow Tick accreditation is the result of meaningful, ongoing work to ensure Kinetic is a place where everyone feels welcome, can be their authentic selves, and thrive in a supportive environment,” she says.

To gain accreditation, organisations undergo a comprehensive assessment of their workplace culture, policies, governance, and employee experience. Kinetic was recognised for its visible commitment to rainbow inclusion, including active support of community initiatives.

Most recently, Kinetic returned to the Wellington Pride Parade with its rainbow wrapped ‘You Are Loved’ bus, joined for the first time by local team members and partners from Greater Wellington Regional Council walking alongside in celebration and support of the LGBTQIA+ community.

While recognising the significance of this achievement, Kinetic acknowledges that accreditation is not the endpoint.

“Achieving the Rainbow Tick is an important milestone, but it’s not the finish line. We are committed to ensuring our workplace remains genuinely inclusive for all,” says Harrison.

Through this accreditation, Kinetic New Zealand reaffirms its commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces that support the full participation and wellbeing of rainbow communities, standing alongside organisations across Aotearoa working to create environments where everyone feels valued.
