Kinetic energises partnership with Frankston Football Club

The Frankston Football Club has secured an extended four-year naming-rights partnership that will see VFL, SEWF and AFLW teams take to the field at a renamed Kinetic Stadium.

Kinetic is the Melbourne-born international bus operator and owner of SkyBus, which has proudly sponsored the stadium since the Frankston Football Club returned to the VFL competition in 2018.

Underpinning the new agreement will be an energised focus on promoting inclusion and participation on and off the field with Kinetic and Frankston FC working together to maximise the social impact of their partnership.

The deal was announced today in front of Frankston FC coaches, players and supporters, local MP Paul Edbrooke and City of Frankston Deputy Mayor Cr Suzette Tayler.

Kinetic Co-CEO Adam Begg said Kinetic was proud to step up its support for the club which has enormous history and influence in the region.

“Frankston FC has an integral role in connecting people through their love of community football and this next chapter in our support is about enhancing the social impact of programs and activities off the field,” Mr Begg said.

“Over the last five years we have proudly seen the club re-enter the VFL competition, build a competitive team, invest in the oval and facilities, and drive participation including entering a women’s team into the South Eastern Women’s League.”

“We are proud to support the continued development of players and people and quest to join the VFLW, as well as working together on Reconciliation actions, LGBTQI+ awareness and inclusion, and disability inclusion – areas in which we are deeply and passionately aligned.”

Frankston FC CEO Adrian Lloyd said Kinetic’s support will help drive the club’s aspirations to lead the VFL in the areas of diversity and inclusion.

“The next four years and beyond for us are about building a strong and sustainable club through paving pathways for young talent to ply their trade at the highest level, building a safe, inclusive and supportive space for our colleagues and supporters, and creating better footballers, better people and stronger communities as a result,” he said.

“We are delighted to have Kinetic continue their commitment to Frankston FC out to nine years under this new deal. This is a sign that we are completely values aligned in what we are doing on and off the field and through our Culture and Belonging Program there are some very exciting initiatives in the works.”

Member for Frankston Paul Edbrooke MP said Frankston FC was a club with a proud and passionate community.

“To witness first-hand the journey of the club since successfully readmitting to the VFL five years ago to the steps it is taking now to promote participation, inclusion and diversity are clear signs that this club is mature, vibrant and in touch with our proud community,” Mr Edbrooke said.

“I congratulate Kinetic on continuing their support for the Frankston Football Club and can’t wait to sit with fans under lights at Kinetic Stadium and enjoy community football at its best here in Frankston.”
