Kinetic is excited to welcome experienced logistics executive Marcia Shield to the company’s senior leadership team as Executive General Manager – Central Queensland.

Joining Kinetic from BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA), Ms Shield brings a depth of knowledge and experience handling the business-critical transport requirements of the resources sector.

The newly created role will bolster Kinetic’s commitment to driving service delivery standards, innovation and growth in its operations supporting companies and connecting communities in the resources-rich region.

She will oversee personnel transportation across the Bowen Basin, Mackay, Rockhampton, Gladstone, and Bundaberg as well as Kinetic’s government contracted public bus services in Mackay, Rockhampton and Bundaberg.

Kinetic’s Head of Australia, Matthew Carney, says Kinetic was thrilled to welcome Ms Shield to the business.

“Marcia is highly respected within the industry and a genuine and caring leader who we have enjoyed working with for many years and who knows our business, team and industry as well as anyone,” Mr Carney said.

“Mining and resources is an essential part of the Australian economy and a key pillar of our operations, and the newly created role demonstrates the importance we place on the Central Queensland region.

“We are investing in supporting our clients and strengthening our capability and service delivery in the region, and leveraging our experience across Australasia, and the globe, to align with and support our clients’ sustainability commitments through zero emission busing.”

In addition to operations in Central Queensland, Kinetic also supports the resources industry across Perth, Darwin and Olympic Dam.

The company’s dedicated mining and resources operation includes a fleet of 170 vehicles delivering 179 contracted busing routes across 29 sites.

Ms Shield says she looks forward to continuing Kinetic’s commitment to safe, reliable and comfortable bus services for the resources sector.

“Kinetic is known for providing exceptional client outcomes and I am excited to be joining the team as the company enters a new phase driving continuous improvement and investment in service delivery.

“Our focus will be on ensuring fleet quality and safety outcomes exceed expectations while continuing to support the full spectrum of workforce transport requirements of our clients.

“We will also support our clients' sustainability targets and goals with the expansion of our zero emissions bus fleet into the resources sector and continuing to drive gender balance and inclusion in the workplace and community.”
