  • It will strengthen understanding of Indigenous cultures, developing meaningful connections with Aboriginal communities through Kinetic’s Reconciliation Action Plan.

Kinetic will extend its partnership with the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency (VACCA) to the end of 2025. Now in its second year, the partnership supports VACCA’s 80 programs to drive positive outcomes for Aboriginal children and their families around Victoria.

As part of the partnership, Kinetic provides free transport services for children, carers and Elders to attend cultural events enabling community to come together, thrive and grow stronger in culture.

The partnership also supports VACCA’s Christmas gift appeal and provides $125,000 worth of donated advertising space, funding their initiatives and promoting their services.

Graham Smith Executive General Manager – VIC/NSW/TAS said the partnership was an opportunity for Kinetic to build stronger relationships with local Aboriginal communities.

“Through our partnership with VACCA we have an incredible opportunity to educate ourselves about Aboriginal culture and understand our shared history.”

“Educating ourselves about reconciliation is not just an act of solidarity; it's a fundamental step toward celebrating diversity, and ensuring every voice is heard,” said Mr Smith.

Muriel Bamblett AO, CEO of VACCA, says that Kinetic’s support with transport has helped everyone, regardless of their circumstance, partake in cultural celebrations.

“Special days and events give the families in our care the opportunity to get together and celebrate long-held traditions,” she says.

“With Kinetic’s support, we’ve opened doors for members of our community who otherwise may not have been able to participate. Everyone has been able to connect and let Aboriginal culture thrive.”

VACCA is the lead Aboriginal child and family services provider in Victoria, assisting thousands of children, families and community members per year.

The partnership will also explore opportunities for VACCA participants to access employment pathways through Kinetic.

Kinetic launched its inaugural Moving the Mob program on Gimuy Country (Cairns) in September 2023, offering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people the opportunity to join the transport industry.

Increasing Indigenous representation in the workforce is a core sustainability priority for Kinetic, which is dedicated to exceeding its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce commitment of four per cent by 2030.

Kinetic expects to launch its Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) later this year as part of an ongoing commitment to fostering partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, stakeholders, and communities.
