Kinetic has announced an exciting two-year partnership with the Melbourne Rebels to support the club’s grassroots community programs and promote career opportunities for women in transport.

As the exclusive partner supporting the Rebels’ Super W team’s community efforts, the partnership will encourage more women to explore a career in the bus lane as Kinetic aims towards a workforce of 50 per cent women by 2030.

Kinetic’s Executive GM – Southern, Mack Hanney said it was exciting to partner with an organisation deeply committed to gender equality.

“As the first club to pay its Super W players, the Rebels are trailblazers for female Rugby players in Australia on the path to professionalism and are always looking to create career pathways for players once they hang up the boots,” Ms Hanney said.

“Kinetic aspires to be an industry leader when it comes to driving gender equality with our Women Up Front program and new Future CEO program promoting opportunities for women from the bus to the boardroom.

“We’re looking forward to supporting the work the Rebels do by promoting genuine and rewarding career opportunities with Kinetic.”

The new partnership will also broaden Kinetic’s community connections, particularly within the Pasifika community which accounts for around 65 per cent of rugby union participants in Victoria.

Melbourne Rebels CEO Baden Stephenson said he is looking forward to having Kinetic energise the club’s community programs.

“Kinetic is a name we see on buses right across the city, and of course which operates the iconic SkyBus service, and they share our community values and commitment to reflecting those communities be it through promoting gender equality, LGBTQI+ inclusion or First Nations justice,” Mr Stephenson said.

“This is a really exciting partnership for us that will see plenty of natural synergies and opportunities as we grow together including using their world-class bus services to support the transportation of kids to and from games during the Rebels Shield to help grow rugby in schools.

“Kinetic’s investment in the club is invaluable and will amplify our impact improving the lives of our people and our community through rugby union.”
