As part of our Metropolitan Bus Franchise and Metropolitan Zero-Emissions Bus Franchise contracts, we're helping the Victorian Government modernise Melbourne's bus experience and deliver benefits to the whole community.

Kinetic proudly operates over one third of the city's bus network, which includes 65 bus routes and a team of over 1,200 passionate bus drivers. Relied upon by more than 27 million Victorians each year, we put passengers first as we deliver safe, clean and green bus services.

Kinetic is leading the way in the state's transition to zero-emission vehicles, with over 150 low or zero emission vehicles as part of our fleet, and a commitment to over 200 zero-emissions Kinetic buses forming part of Melbourne's bus network by 2035. 

We're proud that our leadership in transforming Melbourne’s bus network to zero emissions has been recognised at the 2023 Victorian Premier’s Sustainability Awards, being named the Industry Leader in Future Energy. 

Kinetic is also delivering improved diversity and inclusion across both franchises, with targets to increase the participation of women and priority job seekers.

Public Transport Ombudsman

Public Transport Ombudsman

All feedback is valued and used to improve the quality of our services.

If you’re not satisfied with our response or how your feedback was handled, you can escalate your feedback to the Public Transport Ombudsman (PTO) or the PTV Customer Relations team.

The Public Transport Ombudsman is an independent office that investigates public transport complaints. It provides fair, free and fast resolutions to public transport disputes, and works with its members on systemic complaints to help improve Victoria’s public transport system.

The PTO handles complaints about public transport related issues such as:

  • service delivery issues such as cancellations, reliability, punctuality and overcrowding
  • myki and ticketing issues
  • the use of land and premises by operators, including issues such as noise and dust emanating from public transport construction sites
  • the condition and accessibility of public transport infrastructure and rolling stock. Examples include stations, station ramps, myki equipment, lifts, stairs, stops, train carriages, trams, buses, signs and passenger information notices
  • the conduct of staff, including Authorised Officers and complaint handling staff.
